Synopsis |
Located on the western edge of the most highly populated region in Germany, Düsseldorf is a city of commerce, art, fashion, and modern architecture.
This economic hub is also home to more than six thousand Japanese who have their own cultural centre and stores catering to their own special needs.
Düsseldorf also has the biggest Japanese school in Europe.
The city’s lively cultural scene is characterized by star painters, photographic artists, and sculptors from at home and abroad.
The ballet company known as the “German Opera on the Rhine” is Düsseldorf ’s own international microcosm, with dancers from more than twenty countries performing classical and modern works.
And in the new “Media Port”, for a few years now Düsseldorf has also had a quarter especially for creative personalities.
Its architectural highlights are the work of such famous names as America’s Frank O. Gehry. |
